ARTIST STATEMENT

My seascapes are inspired by the paintings of Turner, the beauty of the rugged french coastline, the channel islands and beyond. Painted from different perspectives and viewpoints, the paintings are based on the effects of the changing light condition of the sky and the resulting colour reflection in the sea. The imagery that I respond to has a strong sense of mood and I am fascinated by the violence and stillness of nature.
